Psychosocial Mechanism of Adolescents’ Depression: A Dose-Response Relation with Physical Activity
The article highlights a study aimed (1) to examine the relations between different doses of physical activity (PA), light PA (LPA), moderate PA (MPA), and vigorous PA (VPA), academic self-efficacy, and depression among adolescents, and (2) to investigate the direct and indirect relations of various doses of PA to depression through academic self-efficacy among middle school adolescents. Findings of this study indicated that academic self-efficacy regulates adolescents’ depression. Tailoring different intensities of PA benefits adolescents’ academic self-efficacy by framing the positive and supportive environment in schools, which can potentially reduce the prevalence of depression during adolescence.

GaussianCpG: a Gaussian model for detection of CpG island in human genome sequences
The article discusses crucial markers in identifying biological elements and processes in mammalian genomes, CpG islands (CGI) that play important roles in DNA methylation, gene regulation, epigenetic inheritance, gene mutation, chromosome inactivation and nuclesome retention. A novel Gaussian model, GaussianCpG, is developed for detection of CpG islands on human genome. Their Gaussian model aims to simplify the complex interaction between nucleotides.

Anion-enhanced excited state charge separation in a spiro-locked N-heterocycle-fused push-pull zinc porphyrin
This article presents a new type of push–pull charge transfer complex, viz., a spiro-locked N-heterocycle-fused zinc porphyrin, ZnP-SQ, that is shown to undergo excited state charge separation, which is enhanced by axial F⁻ binding to the Zn center. Spectroelectrochemical studies are used to identify the spectra of charge separated states and charge separation upon photoexcitation of ZnP is established.
