McCune acknowledges the invitation from Carswell to attend the Armistice Day Program but declines due to a football game to be played in Dublin.

A letter written to Mr. G. Ward Moody, Field Representative, The American Legion, Austin, Texas, from W. J. Wisdom, 17th Dist. Commander, Stephenville, Texas, dated October 20, 1942. Wisdom explains the reason for his delay in answering Moody's letter, that it is due to membership quotas being set too high and advises that the talk from the boys from most of the posts is regarding lowering membership quotas. He advises of the attached sheet listing quotas for each Post. Attachment includes: Report by G. Ward Moody, Austin.
