Three city teenagers miraculously escaped injury Friday when two cars crashed almost head on in the 4100 block N. Tulsa. Police accused them of playing "chicken." Traffic citations for reckless driving were signed against Basil Lee Smith, 16, of route 10, and Kenneth McKean, 16, of 2208 NW 37. Both denied accusations by officers J.M. Watson and C.L. Posey that the wreck had been caused in a game of "chicken." Smith maintained a blowout on the left front tire of his car had caused him to swerve into the path of McKean's auto, coming from the opposite direction."
