A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Jeff Davis, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Hallsville, Texas dated April 25, 1945. Davis advises Carswell of his wish to return to West Texas and requests help from Carswell and Dr. Moore to get him in touch with a new church to pastor. Davis expresses his appreciation for the "good word" by Carswell about the Crusader and for their friendship. In a handwritten postscript Davis advises of Dr. Richardson having agreed to cooperate. Carswell handwrites a notation dated May 16, 1945 confirming having told Davis of Knox City and Eastland.

A letter addressed to the State Director, Selective Service, Austin (17), Texas, from T. N. Carswell, CAS, El Paso, Texas dated April 25, 1944. Carswell writes a special report covering the complaint of a registrant who is requesting an investigation regarding his denied request for a deferred classification by a board member and regarding the drinking habit of the same board member of Local Board No. 1 in Culberson County, Van Horn, Texas.

Letter from Parramore Post No. 57 to Perry Sayles stating that the American Legion has purchased the Johnson Natatorium. The natatorium was formerly Sanitary Natatorium Company owned by stockholders. The writer asks Sayles for his share in the company.

There is a handwritten note at the bottom of the letter that reads, "I called him in Abilene on may 3, 1961 Burke at Board of Control is to write him."
