According to testimony provided, at the behest of some of the students and amidst accusations of racism against faculty members, members of the Student National Coordinating Committee participated in a conference at the school to open up a dialogue with the school administration. Following this meeting, a police officer approached three SNCC members outside the school and proceeded to arrest them on grounds of disturbing the peace. They were later released on a twenty-five dollar bond.
