The caption in the lower-left corner says "Jumping Contest." The postcard was sent from El Paso, Texas and is addressed to "Miss G. M. Horne" in Portland, Maine. Text on the back of the postcard reads: "Dear Gertrude:- Big military tournament here next week - 5000 soldiers; and commencing Oct. 15, a full month of maneuvers by the Division of the Army on the border. Postcard from Blanche S. to Mr. and Mrs. Jack M., giving her best wishes and saying she'll be homes in a few days. The front of the postcard features a photograph of Ye Kendall Inn, in Boerne, a long, two-story plantation style house with porches on both stories and a screened-in sun room on the far left side. The gravel driveway that runs parallel to the house is lined with trees, and has two automobiles parked on it. The name of the house is printed at the bottom of the postcard.

Postcard from J. P. Eagan to George Pendexter with a note on the back saying that Pendexter's fire truck should "be ready for shipment about Dec. 20th." He goes on the say that the photograph on the reverse side shows "#18 wagon just as the walls fell at general paper Co. fire May 23-1911. The photograph shows four firemen standing on the back of the fire wagon watching as the wall falls down.

Postcard from Henry W. Woodward to George Pendexter regarding a fire auto catalog that had been sent to Pendexter. The photograph on the back of the card shows a group of firemen standing next to a fire truck with the title "Auxiliary Squad A" written on the engine. Two of the men are sitting in the front seat while the other six are standing near the rear of the vehicle; the truck has a large rack in the back with gear loaded on it such as hats, ropes, and ladders.

Postcard from J. D. Smith to George Pendexter with a photograph of one of the fire stations in Hamilton, Ontario. Smith notes he is from Battle Creek, Michigan on the card while the photograph was taken in Hamilton. The caption on the photograph tells us that this is "Truck No. 1 Central Fire Station" being photographed; there are 12 men that make up this company, nine of whom are standing in front of the long wagon loaded with ladders, while two are sitting in the driver's seat and one is sitting at the very back of the ladders.
