Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "Just like piecing a quilt" is the way one fellow described the roofing project going on at nW 23 and Classen, where workmen are busy erecting a gold dome on the new Classen State Bank. The picture at lower left shows the pattern the workmwn must follow, and the photo at the lower right shows construction men readying some of the pieces. An idea of how the dome will appear when completed can be taken from the top picture, which shows the start of the project. Workmen had 625 diamond shaped panels to piece together when they started Wednesday. They hope to have the quilt-like job finished this coming Wednesday. As a row of panels is affixed around the perimeter of the dome, the roof is raised another notch by use of the tower.....The dome will top a building designed by Bailey, Bozalis, Dickinson and Roloff, Oklahoma City architects. Secor Construction Co. of Oklahoma City is the general contractor, and Dale Benz, Inc., od Phoenix is erecting the dome..."
