The school board hired Dallas architect Bob Osborne to survey the current facilities and make recommendations on improvements to fit the needs of the students, teachers and administrators. Pilot Points ISD success stems from contributing factors such as being a consortium member of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, a group devoted to research and development of discipline-based art education.
