Interview with Angela Bynum, veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, as part of the Tarrant County War Veterans Oral History Project. The interview includes Bynum's personal experiences of childhood and education in California and Texas, enlisting in the U.S. Army, basic and advanced training as a motor transport operator, training in avoidance of improvised explosive devices, and transport missions between Iraq and Kuwait. Bynum also discusses her inability to withstand Airborne training, the decision to leave active duty in 2002, her use of the GI Bill benefits to attend Tarrant Community College, the 2004 call-up from reserve duty and deployment to Iraq, her family's concerns regarding deployment, and aspects of daily life for American soldiers stationed in Iraq.

Interview with John David Burgess, a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in Vietnam as a helicopter crew chief with the 196th Infantry Brigade from Baytown, Texas. Burgess describes his experiences during the war and what a typical day was like while in Vietnam. He also speaks about an incident where the plane he was flying was shot down by enemy fire.

Executive Correspondence – Letter dtd 07/15/05 to Chairman Principi from Rep Jack Kingston, as well as GA Senators Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson thanking the Chairman for the opportunity to testify in Atlanta before the BRAC Commission and supporting adding new missions to Submarine Base Kings Bay. However they do not support for the realignment of the New London Submarine Base in CT. Rep Kingston also expresses his support for Moody AFB, the attached talking paper highlights his points.
