[Lyndon B. Johnson Visiting Lambshead Ranch During Fandangle]

Photograph of President Lyndon Baines Johnson posing with Lady Bird Johnson and another man and woman during his visit to Lambshead Ranch, June 7, 1969. The visit coincided with the annual production of the Fort Griffin Fandangle, an outdoor musical about the history of Fort Griffin written by Robert Nail, in Albany, Texas. Johnson is touching the arm of the woman on his left; Lady Bird and the man are standing to his right. Johnson and the man are wearing scarves fastened by pins in the shape of Texas. There are two microphones on stands in the foreground of the picture. Behind the group on the right are men wearing cowboy hats holding instruments. Onlookers are also standing behind Johnson among a grove of trees. "On the Pedernales -" is written along the bottom of the photo.

A. C. Jones Home

Postcard of the two-story Baroque architecture styled home of Mrs A. C. Jones located at 611 East Jones St. Philanthropist and supporter of local schools, Mrs. A.C. (Jane Field) Jones (1842-1918) built the house on this site after her husband Captain Jones’ death in 1906. Governors and other Texas leaders were welcomed here. Located on the hill where the college stands today, the first and much grander A.C. Jones home was sold to the John Flournoy and moved into town by mule and wagon. It stood facing Flournoy Park until it was razed in 1946.
