By presenting the auditor as a unifying principle that links Browning's earliest works to his dramatic monologues, this dissertation enhances the importance of the ever-ignored experimental works in developing the dramatic monologue technique. An exploration of the emergence and development of the auditor has an additional, but never ancillary, effect of proclaiming the originality and inventiveness of Browning's dramatic technique.

The problem with which this investigation is concerned is that of determining the predictors, correlates, and consequences of job satisfaction in a university library. A managerial model was constructed for the purpose of providing an overall framework of analysis. It was hypothesized, in the managerial model, that organizational effectiveness in any organization is linked closely to the concepts of job satisfaction and employee satisfactoriness. These two concepts, in turn, are closely related to managerial behavior.

The problem of this study was the lack of knowledge about user satisfaction with the library services which are provided at the library of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Saudi Arabia. The purpose of the study were two-fold: (1) to measure, evaluate, and analyze user satisfaction with the library services provided at the MFA Library for the employees; and (2) to develop a model for evaluation of user satisfaction of library services in government libraries in Saudi Arabia.

The study sought acceptance of an inventory of program objectives for a community college mental health technology program within the social and behavioral science structure. This study involved a geographic information systems (GIS) approach to modeling ground water pollution potential in the Southern Edwards Aquifer Region in Texas. The DRASTIC ground water model was analyzed using two methods. First, the effects of adding land cover data to the drastic model were evaluated. In the second approach, the effects of the removal of DRASTIC variables were evaluated. Six, five, and four variable models were generated and analyzed.

this thesis explores the writings of Anne Morrow Lindbergh and their potential for oral performance. Lindbergh's life and works are examined, theories of interpretation are explored, and a solo performance script is compiled from various writings of Anne Morrow Lingbergh. The script was rehearsed and presented so that its effectiveness in oral performance could be evaluated. Both the performer and the audience members attest to the appeal of Lindbergh's writings as literature to be performed orally.

The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between the professional activities of Col. Earl D. Irons and the overall development of bands in the Southwest. The need for the study was determined after researching the related literature, which revealed gaps in the historical record of instrumental music education, and in particular a dearth of biographical studies dealing with music educators in band field.

This study is about the development of a curriculum guide which projects flexibility, continuity, sequential framework, and to a certain extent, uniformity, around which each teacher may build an art program that will best meet the students' needs. Areas pertinent to developing the curriculum guide are presented in light of literature in this field. This study deals with the growth and development of higher education in the Canal Zone from 1933 to the present. This study uses information obtained from the special Panama Collection available at the Canal Zone Public Library, government documents, letters, and administrative memoranda on file in the Agency Record Center, interviews, personal correspondence, newspapers, Panama Canal publications, minutes of meetings held by local chapters of Association of University Professors and Advisory Council, annual reports, reports made by Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, bulletins, and yearbooks.

The purpose of this study were to provide fundamental ethnographic information about the Ticuna Indians and to determine to what extent the programs of bilingual education, administered among them by the Ministerio de Educación Pública del Perú and the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL), had accelerated their integration into mainstream Peruvian Life.

Research provides biological and ecological information on Hydrilla Verticillata (L. f.) Royle in Gatun Lake, Panama for an ongoing management program of aquatic weeds in the Panama Canal. Morphological and genetic variation, standing crop and life cycle were determined.

This study examines two methods of in-service preparation for teachers of adult reading. The first method, known as Developing Adult Reading in Texas (DART), uses single concept modules which deal with five specific components of the reading process. The components are Comprehension, Vocabulary, Motivation, Word-Attack Skills, and Diagnosis. The modules provide for teacher involvement and focus on one reading concept at a time. The second method is defined as non-focused reading instruction. Subjects receive information of a general nature concerning the same five components of a reading process. A lecture format is used.

The problem of this study was the development of a model for the certification requirements for vocational office education teacher coordinators in the United States. The data for this study were obtained from library research, documents provided by the state directors of vocational education and state departments of education, 62 questionnaires returned from randomly selected businesses and office education educators, and 735 questionnaires returned from randomly selected employed vocational office education teacher-coordinators.

The purpose of this study was to determine the personal reading interests of students in the third, fourth, and fifth grades and to determine if advances in technology in the past twenty years have changed their reading interests.

This study was a descriptive analysis of the orientation program for a large junior college in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Its purposes were (1) to describe the freshman orientation course, (2) to analyze data compiled from rating forms which recorded student perceptions of each aspect of the course, and (3) to discuss the implications of the data for junior college student service personnel as they attempt to establish programs that will effectively aid students in making a successful adjustment to college.
