Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "A heavy marble-topped table from which the historical defense of New Orleans against the invading British army and navy was directed by General Andrew Jackson more that 135 years ago, is to find its way to the Hermitage, home of the famous general and later president of the United States. The Hermitage to which the table has been willed by Judge J. M. Williams and the late Mrs. Williams of Altus, is located near Nashville, Tenn., a showplace maintained by the Ladies Hermitage association. The table has been in the possession of Judge Williams' family for nearly 135 years, for it was soon after the War of 1912 ended that the Judge's great-grandfather, Dr. John Shelby, Nashville, obtained the table from the plantation near New Orleans. Dr. Shelby was a friend of General Jackson and also Sam Houston of Tennessee and later Texas fame."
