Three U.S. Army OH-58A Kiowa observation helicopters fly in stacked formation above the Textron's Bell Helicopter Company facility at Fort Worth, Texas. The Army took delivery May 23 on the first of 2,200 of the light observation helicopters from Bell, which was awarded a $123,600,000 fixed-price contract in March, 1968 after winning a two-stage industry competition.
