Interview with George McColm, a Navy veteran and an agricultural expert, concerning his experiences in the Pacific Theater during World War II. McColm discusses his education at Kansas State College, his experiences in agricultural marketing research, his employment with the Production Marketing Administration of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration, his employment at Topaz Relocation Center for Japanese Americans (1942-1944), his induction into the U.S. Navy (1944), his role in planning for the invasion of the Japanese home islands (1945), and his role in writing Japanese land reform laws during postwar American occupation. Appendix includes photocopies of various biographical documents concerning George McComb and his career in the U.S. Navy and in agriculture.

The interview includes Ash's personal experiences about her early sales career and its impact upon her future business philosophy, methods, and the success of Mary Kay Cosmetics. Ash talks about planning prior to launching the company, problems and solutions in the beginning, early legal problems with competitors, her concern for women's opportunities, development and growth of sales, the role of her children in the company, methods of recruiting, training, and attitude building, marketing and sales techniques, incentive plans, sales territories, pricing, the party plan, employee promotion, her views on successful managerial traits and on the motivational differences between men and women, applying the Golden Rule toward employees and customers, her attitudes and philosophy toward employee relations, using her intuition in decision making, and reasons for the growth of Mary Kay Cosmetics.

Interview with John Hargrove, a Army Air Corps WWII veteran from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Hargrove discusses growing up and his family background, being drafted into the Air Corps, training, assignment to the 18th Reconnaissance Squadron, 22nd Bomb Group at Langley Field as a radio operator, life and work at Langley, transition to the B-26, the start of the war, submarine patrol, deployment to Townsville, Australia via Hawaii, flying his first mission, liberty and recreation, bombing and close air support missions, the crew being awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, losses, returning to the US, work as a radio instructor, meeting his wife, postwar service, and reflections on the atomic bomb. In appendix is a manuscript for an autobiography written by Hargrove, an addendum to the interview, and a letter to Ron Marcello making corrections to the interview.

Interview with Sally Bravo, second generation of Bermejo women, for the Mexican American Women's Educational Experience Oral History Project. The interview includes Bravo's recollections of schooling in Fort Worth, the scholastic structure of her home life, cultural expectations and limitations on education, and the meaning of high school graduation, as well as educational goals for children, the role in sending children to college, and the generational changes in educational goals. It includes an appendix with the Bermejo family tree.

Interview with Davis Porter Newton, Army WWII veteran of the Pacific Theater from Birmingham, Alabama. Newton discusses his family background, working during the Depression and his education, commissioning into the Army, assignment to the 346th Harbor Craft Company and deployment to Finschhafen, New Guinea, acting as defense counsel in a court martial, sea-transport operations around New Guinea and the Philippines, working with POWs, and investigating war crimes.

Interviews with Morris E. ("Gene") Hall, a musician and college professor, concerning his reflections and personal role in establishing the jazz studies program in the College of Music at North Texas State College.
