Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance Basic Data for Eau Claire NTMS Quadrangle, Wisconsin; Minnesota

From abstract: Results of a reconnaissance geochemical survey of the Eau Claire Quadrangle, Wisconsin; Minnesota are reported. Field and laboratory data are presented for 565 groundwater samples, 680 stream sediment samples, and 667 stream water samples. Statistical and areal distributions of uranium and other possible uranium-related variables are displayed. A generalized geologic map of the survey area is provided and pertinent geologic factors which may be of significance in evaluating the potential for uranium mineralization are briefly discussed.

Fortran Computer Programs to Plot and Process Aquifer Pressure and Temperature Data

From introduction: In this report, two programs have been developed for use in managing data derived from an aquifer thermal-energy storage (ATES) project being done by the University of Minnesota. Data are generated from temperature and pressure measuring devices that are read automatically by a datalogger. Up to 100 channels can be scanned every 10 seconds and recorded on magnetic tape or printed as paper output. Time period of up to several years of data may be represented on a single tape.

The Eruptive and Sedimentary Rocks on Pigeon Point, Minnesota, and Their Contact Phenomena

From preface: The preparation of this paper is due to the fact that the eruptive rocks occurring on Pigeon point, Minnesota, may be taken as types of similar eruptives found so widely spread over the Huronian and Keweenawan areas surrounding Lake Superior, and to the peculiar nature of the alteration these have superinduced in the fragmental rocks through which they have broken.

Hydrology of Lakes in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Metropolitan Area: A Summary of Available Data Stored -- Using a Data-Base Management System (open access)

Hydrology of Lakes in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Metropolitan Area: A Summary of Available Data Stored -- Using a Data-Base Management System

Abstract:Data were collected and summarized on the hydrology and hydrogeology of 949 lakes, 10 acres (4 hectares) or larger, in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, Minnesota. Eight tables totaling over 100 pages present data on location, depth, area, lake level, ecological and game-management classification, inflowing and outflowing streams, soils, bedrock type, water added to or take from lake, and reported lake-related problems. SYSTEM 2000, a generalized computer data-base management system, was used to organize the data and prepare the tables. SYSTEM 2000 provides powerful capabilities for future retrieval and analyses of the data. The data base is available to potential users so that questions not implicitly anticipated in the preparation of the published tables can be answered readily, and the user can retrieve data in tabular or other forms to meet his particular needs.
