The back page of the program includes advertising: Announing . . . No Time For Sergeants. Andy Griffith "Starring in the stage roll that rocketed him to fame!" Magazine slick. Handwritten inside the program is correspondence to Tommy [T. N. Carswell] from Sarah Anna. Crane reminisces regarding her father liking "this sort of show". Crane expresses her appreciation to Carswell for the update agreeing with Carswell regarding having fond memories of Hardin-Simmons and requests that if he sees Grace or Grady Andrews to please remember her to them.

A letter addressed to Comrades, from Robert L. Murray, ASCAP, Thirty Rockefeller Plaza, New York, N. Y., dated November 29, 1940. Murray advises that all ASCAP music is to be barred from radio beginning January 1, 1941 and requests they write the Federal Communications Commission, have their Posts pass resolutions and send copies to their Senators, Representatives and Governors.

A letter addressed to the Commanding Officer, Camp Barkeley, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Immediate Past Post Commander, Abilene, Texas, dated September 22, 1941. Carswell recommends Mrs. C. B. Marchbanks of De Leon, Texas as an applicant for employment at Camp Barkeley listing her qualifications from when she was a member of the Music Faculty of Hardin-Simmons University some years ago.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from Sarah Anna Simmons Crane, dated June 5, 1960. Crane acknowledges the receipt of the letter from Carswell and expresses how good it was to hear from him. She advises of having a severe cold when his letter came and having finally cashed the check, which was a wonderful gesture and gift. Crane advises that she used the money to see a show at the Music Hall, for a dinner at The Adams, that she saw 'Bye Bye Birdie', " a refreshing new very entertaining musical". She advises that New York is changed, that the old charm is gone and in its place a "bright, exciting new city". Crane advises that she use what money is left to be a guest of Carswell. Crane advises that the most treasured part of his fine letter is his expression of gratefulness to her Father, that Carswell was a great favorite of his, and to her Grandfather and Grandmother.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Millard A. Jenkens, D. D., Pastor, First Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas dated March 15, 1945. Jenkens expresses how good it was to see Carswell around and advises regarding a letter he had written to McKenzie [Walter H. McKenzie] regarding keeping Carswell on the Board in the fight against liquor. Jenkens handwrites a postscript advising Carswell of his having spoken with McKenzie and that McKenzie is "powerful glad" Carswell will still be on his board.

The meeting minutes for the Hardin-Simmons University Board of Trustees meeting, May 31, 1948. The minutes include the names of students to be graduated; an amendment to Section 4 of Article 3 of the Constitution and By-Laws was adopted; recommendation to be made to the Executive Committee of the General Baptist Convention that J. C. Hunter, Jr. be added to the Board of Trustees. A motion was made by T. N. Carswell to discuss with Walter Jennings the possibility of having his address, made at the Ex-student banquet, published, approved, and distributed by Hardin-Simmons University.

McGahey reports on his actions to get an interest in the Drys including giving the letter to Mr. Waller but that Waller gave it back without comment. He voices his lack of hope to see much done in his county.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from P. D. O'Brien, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Big Spring, Texas, dated July 26, 1961. O'Brien expresses his pleasure at having the occasion to meet and fellowship with Carswell even if only briefly all these years and reminisces about the "good days at old Simmons College". He expresses his pleasure in doing the favor [witnessing Mrs. Carswell's signature] and for the check which he put into the building fund "hoping it will yield dividends for all eternity".

A letter written to Hon. Pat Bullock, Austin, Texas, from Philip C. McGahey, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Breckenridge, Texas, dated April 26, 1941. McGahey requests that the Committee vote House Bill 373 out without amendments.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Julian Atwood, Pastor, Highland Baptist Church, Dallas 4, Texas, dated August 9, 1943. Atwood advises Carswell that Dr. Buddin reported to him the results of their conference with Carswell and that he is delighted that it looks as if they may be able to have Carswell as their next leader of the Dry forces.

Jenkens acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell regarding the proposition from the United Texas Drys. Jenkens conveys his high regard for Carswell's work and his admiration for Carswell. Jenkens expresses sadness regarding the death of Mrs. Bob Walker.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, San Antonio, Texas from Millard A. Jenkens, D. D., Pastor, First Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas dated February 9, 1944. Jenkens acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell, comments on the report made by Carswell on the Dallas meeting and expresses his relief that Carswell was made vice chairman since the work requires a "hard hitter". He comments on his name being off the list of active deacons and that he looks forward to the day when Carswell is back on the active list.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Julian Atwood, Pastor, Highland Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas, dated July 27, 1943. Atwood informs Carswell of the Committee request for a conference with Carswell regarding filling the vacancy [with the United Texas Drys] caused by the resignation of Jeff Davis.

A letter written to Mr. Joe Riddle, Abilene, Texas, from Dick O'Brien, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Stamford, Texas, dated January 27, 1941. O'Brien discusses the cause and his support for the cause but advises Riddle that the county is divided.
