[Allen family seated on rocks]

Photograph of Allen family seated on rocks during their donkey ride in Mineral Wells, Texas. They sit in a row on rocks and a fallen tree trunk in a rocky outcrop, each dressed nicely and with hats in their laps, except for Dr. J. W. Allen whose hat is on his donkey's head behind them. All look face forward except for Dr. J. W. Allen who looks towards Dr. Frances Daisy Emery Allen. The camera in his lap also faces her. Five donkeys stand behind the group. The photograph is mounted on gray cardstock which has a stamp at the lower left corner reading, "Judson McClure / Mineral Wells Texas,." A very faint inscription on the back reads, "Mrs. C. Emery."

Emery / August 1901."

Photograph of five people mounted on donkeys in a rocky outcrop with a rocky mountain wall behind them. They are all dressed up, the women wearing long dresses or skirts and the man wearing a three-piece suit, and the boy at center wearing a nice jacket. All wear hats except the man, whose hat has fallen on the ground, and the boy who holds his hat. The photograph is mounted on black cardstock which has an imprint in gold on the lower left corner that reads, "Photo Car / H. Clark / Mineral Wells, / Texas." On the back is an inscription naming the individuals from right to left: "Annie Emery - Dr. J. W. Allen - Paul Emery - Dr. F.D. Emery - ?" There is also a large imprint on the back for the Weatherford, Mineral Wells & Northwestern Railway.

[Christmas Card from the Seybolds]

Photographic Christmas card from Dorothee and Elmer Seybold to Isaac Herbert Kempner with a handwritten note along the left margin that says, "May this be your Merriest Christmas" signed by the Seybolds. In the photograph, the Seybolds are wearing dark-colored Western-style costumes and posing on either side of their ranch gate. Dorothee is looking at the camera and Elmer is waving a cowboy hat, looking towards the right of the image.

J. R. C. Moseley Standing in a Field of Hairy Vetch

Photograph of J. R. C. Moseley standing in a field of hairy vetch used as both a cover and soil-building crop and seed production. Moseley in this photo poses with some hairy vetch in hand. The back of the photograph proclaims, "Part of the excellent hairy vetch cover and soil building crop that is being saved for seed on the Moseley Ranch. Mr. Moseley (in photo) says that this 70 acres of vetch and an adjoining 70 acres of Abruzzi rye carried 195 cows from Jan. 1 to Feb. 29, 1944. The crop was not damaged and the vetch will yield an average of 250# seed per acre. It is estimated that Mr. Moseley will harvest 150,000# of seed this year. Last year he harvested 40,000 lbs. of vetch seed from 160 acres."
