A letter written to a parolee in Abilene, Texas, from W. P. Cameron, Chairman Palo Pinto County Parole Board, Mineral Wells, Texas, dated January 4, 1956. Carmeron advises Subject 130,969 that the transfer to Abilene is in progress instructing Subject to show this letter to the Taylor County Parole Board Chairman and to report to him in the future.

Harris advises Maisel of his agreement to serve on the Legion Memorial Highway Committee for which he was recommended by Tommy N. Carswell.

A letter written to Mr. George Barber, Mineral Wells, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Fifth Division Commander, dated December 9, 1942. Carswell advises of his receipt on December 4th of the invitation for the program to be held on December 2nd and explains that he, otherwise, would have been happy to participate in the program.

A letter written to Mr. Tommie Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from D. A. Abernathy, Adj, F. A. Post 75, Mineral Wells, Texas, dated August 4, 1944. Abernathy advises of his previous plans to be out of state on vacation at the time of the conference and asks Carswell to serve for him on the Publications Committee at the Fort Worth War Conference.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from J. A. Schneck, General Delivery, T. J. Tidwell Shows, Brownwood, Texas/Mineral Wells, Texas, dated March 8, 1941. Schneck confirms the plans for a show the week of March 17th, under the auspices of the Post. The reverse sides includes handwritten notes: "First be true to thineself, Thou canst then be false to any man" - "Aint no such thing as a back slide".

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from "A Jeffersonian Democrat," Abilene, Texas, dated July 23, 1954. An anonymous writer expresses anger regarding a letter sent by Carswell addressed to "Friends and voters in Precinct 12," accusing Carswell and Allan Shivers of having split the Democratic Party, the consequence of which "will no doubt have Jefferson and Jackson turn over in their graves." The envelope also contained three identical convention ribbons imprited "Delegate Taylor County, State Democratic Convention, September 14, 1954, Mineral Wells." The envelope into which the letter and ribbons were placed is also included in the record. The envelope is addressed to "Mr. Turn-coat Carswell, College Heights School, Abilene, Texas postmarked Abilene, Texas, July 23, 1954."

A letter written to Mr. Wyatt W. Lipscomb, Albany, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated December 14, 1942. Carswell offers the explanation regarding his receipt a few days ago of Lipscomb's letter dated November 22nd which accounted for his not being with them on December 3rd. He advises of a similar incident which caused him to miss another event held in Mineral Wells and so ends his letter advising that "war has its drawbacks" that they "must take them in their stride without complaint".

Lipscomb advises of the enclosed clipping from one of their two local newspapers of an article written by himself relative to the proper consideration of Armistice. He complains that the other newspaper destroyed the intent of the article by leaving out the last paragraph. Lipscomb extends an invitation to Carswell and to his wife to attend an event to be held at their Legion Hall adding that he hopes his gasoline will not be too limited for the trip.
