[Allen family on mules in Mineral Wells]

Photograph of five members of the Allen family mounted on mules in a rocky outcrop, with trees and a rocky mountain wall behind them, in Mineral Wells, Texas. They are all dressed up, the women wearing long dresses or skirts and the man wearing a three-piece suit, and the boy at center wearing a nice jacket. All wear hats. The photograph is mounted to gray cardstock with a stamp at the lower left corner reading "Judson McClure, / Mineral Wells Texas,." On the back is a handwritten inscription, "Dr. F. D. Emery / August 1901."

Photograph of five people mounted on donkeys in a rocky outcrop with a rocky mountain wall behind them. They are all dressed up, the women wearing long dresses or skirts and the man wearing a three-piece suit, and the boy at center wearing a nice jacket. All wear hats except the man, whose hat has fallen on the ground, and the boy who holds his hat. The photograph is mounted on black cardstock which has an imprint in gold on the lower left corner that reads, "Photo Car / H. Clark / Mineral Wells, / Texas." On the back is an inscription naming the individuals from right to left: "Annie Emery - Dr. J. W. Allen - Paul Emery - Dr. F.D. Emery - ?" There is also a large imprint on the back for the Weatherford, Mineral Wells & Northwestern Railway.

This photograph shows the auction of the first ten copies of "TIME WAS In Mineral Wells", First Edition, 1975. Identified (facing the crowd in front row) are Mrs. Richard Warren (with arms folded); Mrs. A.F. (Patsy) Weaver; A.F. (Art) Weaver, Author; Rev. Bobby Moore, Auctioneer. The auction took place inside the restored "Little Rock School", Mineral Wells' first public school.

Weaver, author; Mrs. Jean Dickens. Copy Number One sold for $153.57. (H. Arthur Zappe D.D.S., bought copy Number Two for $45, and Bill Bennett bought copy Number Three for an undisclosed price.)

[The TIME WAS Book Auction]

The auction of first edition of "TIME WAS in Mineral Wells..." The men in picture were: (left to right) the Reverend Mr. Bobby Moore, auctioneer; Art Weaver, author; H. Arthur Zappe, DDS, Mayor of Mineral Wells; and Frost Bowman, Banker. The Reverend Mr. Moore was pastor of the First Baptist Church at the time. Mr. Weaver was a photographer, and the first president of the Mineral Wells Heritage Association. Dr. Zappe was a dentist, and Mr. Bowman was a Director of Mineral Wells Heritage Association.
