Rainwater
Access:
Use of this item is restricted to the UNT Community
Recording of Stelios Giannoulakis' Rainwater. This work is inspired by the sound of rain on the metal cover of a balcony at a house in Athens. There is added piano which follows the raindrops and noises from the kitchen and living room. It is a meditative piece for autumn bridging the distance between summer and winter as well as between remote places of the globe that the composer finds themselves depending on the season.

In “Reflections in the River,” Arabela, the second youngest, faces the ghost of an unwanted pregnancy and La Llorona. “La Cocina de Su Madre” is the story of Magda, the oldest daughter, and her own teenage girl, Natalia, as they attempt to find themselves in a new town after moving a thousand miles from home.
