A letter written to T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from F. F. Andrews, Post Commander, Havens-Cannon Post 24, West Grade School, Principal, Anadarko, Oklahoma, dated February 15, 1941. Andrews advises of his interest in the Abilene Ministerial Alliance due to two companies out of Anadarko being in the Abilene area. He advises of the enclosed rosters for the two companies explaining that the town and the men's officers are interested in the welfare of the men. Andrews advises of several Indians belonging to the company and suggests, for unusual entertainment, that they be asked to perform some dances in their costumes. He gives assurance they are not looking for special attention for these men acknowledging their understanding that there are 19,000 men that need the attention of the Abilene community. The attached rosters are of Company "F" 120th Quartermaster Regiment and of Battery "B" 158th F.A.; a penciled "a" is by the names of men who are from Anadarko . The reverse side of the roster includes handwritten names and notations. An attached roster provides a listing of names of officers from Anadarko and a postscript by Andrews stating, "These men are worthy of any trust that you may ask …

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Walter H. McKenzie, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated January 29, 1945. McKenzie replies to a letter from Carswell explaining that he has no desire to leave Carswell off the executive committee and the reason for his letter was due to receiving a notification that the address had been changed to Washington, D. C. McKenzie assures Carswell of his desire to have Carswell's cooperation and influence, to hear from him occasionally and to see him if he comes to Dallas.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Walter H. McKenzie, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated January 22, 1945. McKenzie advises that the last letter addressed to Carswell came back and that if this letter comes back he will take it that Carswell has moved and can no longer serve on the committee. Handwritten reply by Carswell dated January 27, 1945 advises McKenzie to "Do as you please. Did not ask it to begin with and see no reason to suggest or request appointment now. Cordially, TNC.".

Davis advises Carswell that the Executive Committee, composed of George Sargeant, Edgar P. Haney, and Dr. Julian Atwood, informed him that they were impressed with Carswell as Davis' logical successor and that Dr. Francis A. Buddin would be contacting him. Notation at bottom of page advises of Carswell having answered on June 27, 1943.

Davis requests that Carswell attend an open Committee Meeting to consider the House Bill sponsored by Representative John Connally creating a dry zone around army camps and defence plants in Texas .

A lpetter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated March 23, 1943. Davis provides information regarding dates set for Field Days. The San Angelo Field Day is scheduled June 13th and the Austin Field Day the fifth Sunday in May.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated March 16, 1943. Davis advises of the changes in the Curfew Bill making it a "farce" and, therefore, requests that they write to their representatives urging them to support the amendment with an eleven o'clock closing hour and no sales on Sunday.

Davis expresses that Carswell was missed at the Field Day, inquires on the status of a San Angelo Field Day, and advises of an increase to 133 dry counties with more elections to be held, soon.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated January 26, 1943. Davis describes a "hotel mixup" including the Grace Hotel, the Wooten Hotel, the Hilton Hotel and a Tourist Court when he was in Abilene and expresses his dismay at forgeting the proposed meeting with Carswell. He advises that they are sponsoring an anti-advertising bill which is being scouted by Senator George Moffett, that Representative John Connally has introduced a ten-mile bill like the one passed in 1918 that dried up the State and that they plan to get behind the Governor's curfew bill. Davis expresses the need for more Field Days assuring that the events will be more fruitful than in the past.

Davis expresses satisfaction regarding the prospect of Carswell devoting more time to the work. He discusses the outcome of the past year noting the outlook as encouraging but adds that there is immediate work to be done. Offers the season's greetings.

Davis advises of the date set for the San Angelo field day to be in late March, that the date is a result of the current Wichita County work. He touts the Rio Grande Valley trip as his most profitable. Davis advises Carswell that he will write P. D. O'Brien but is unsure of success there noting that O'Brien has a hard situation in his church stating, "they have been able to intimidate every pastor they have had".

Davis confirms that Bishop Boaz will be with Brother Douglas Carver on June 14, glad Carswell is "getting" a group to go to Austin and enthusiatically advises, in a postscript, that Marion County voted dry on Saturday giving them 129 totally dry counties to date. The reverse side includes a handwritten note, "Cash 28.00" and dated June 7, 1942.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated March 5, 1942. Davis suggests using a pledge card such as the enclosed one when presenting the matter to pastors and advises of more churches participating than there are special speakers available for every church noting that in Houston, the past year, the pastor of the church usually spoke and took an offering at the close of the service.

Davis inquires of Carswell, "how goes the battle," and advises that he has plans, but he wants to hear from Carswell before doing anything and describes the program plans for Dallas. He advises Carswell, confidentially, that they have a plan to try to get on the July Primary ballot on a "war time proposition" noting if they can do that they "will be ready for big things".

Davis acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell and confirms the plan to be at their regular meeting. He advises of more than 50 churches having committed to field days estimating they will get one hundred.
