Dallas city officials, prominent black citizens, and other elected officials from the Dallas Citizens' Interracial Association were present at the opening and are optimistic about Dallas' growth as a city and community. Fifty of the six hundred homes have been built, which seventy-nine percent of the homes have been sold before the ceremony.
