Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance Basic Data for Green Bay NTMS Quadrangle, Wisconsin
From abstract: Results of a reconnaissance geochemical survey of the Green Bay Quadrangle, Wisconsin are reported. Field and laboratory data are presented for 695 groundwater samples, 546 stream sediment samples, and 401 stream water samples. Statistical and areal distributions of uranium and other possibly uranium-related variables are displayed. A generalized geologic map of the survey area is provided, and pertinent geologic factors which may be of significance in evaluating the potential for uranium mineralization are briefly discussed.

"This report summarizes published geotechnical properties of raw and retorted oil shales from the Green River Formation. Basic physical properties including gradation, specific gravity and Atterberg limits and engineering properties including compaction, permeability, settlement, soundness, and strength are summarized and discussed. Where appropriate, conclusions are drawn about the suitability of retorted oil shales as a geotechnical construction material. Trophic Structure and Energy Flow in a Texas Pond
Annual energy flow and mean annual biocontent of eighteen compartments were determined for a 0.94 ha north central Texas pond ecosystem. Annual primary production was 7,780 kcal m^-2 yr^-2, and community production-to-respiration ratio was 1.49. One-third of annual primary production accumulated on the substrate as silt and sedimentation. Community production, production-respiration ratio, and biocontents of all compartments except aquatic insects were large in summer, small in winter. Biocontents of four trophic levels in the pond were all of the same order of magnitude, approximately 50 kcal m^-2. Suspended and benthic organic material forprimary consumers and terrestrial insects for tertiary consumers were substantial allochthanous energy imports into the pond system.

The data are presented on microfiche (in pocket) and in digital form on magnetic tape (obtainable from the DOE computer data base). The National Topographic Map Series (NTMS) quadrangles at 1:250,000 scale were used for survey unit areas in compiling the data. The data formats are explained in subsection I.B, and the nature and origin of the planning factors are described in Section II."
