Team photo of the 1912 Denton High School Football team with coach Professor Jackson. This photograph was a first attempt and the second attempt can be found on photo PF-B-34-2 in our collection. Some players have been identified by comparing the yearbook photographs and description. Sidney "Ned" Raymond Rector, standing and holding ball; Roy Wilson Ledbetter, sitting, 2nd from the left; Clifford Davis Marchman, sitting, middle; Charles Frederick "Fred" Lane, back row; James "Laud" Ratten, back row; Jack Gunnell McMath, standing, first on right; William "Will" Lewis Collins, standing, top row; George Elbert Kerby (Kirby); John Cobbs; Colonel Rayzor, sitting with ball; other who may be pictured: John Berry, Edwin Evers, and Raymond Fox.

Denton Ariel Club's "Art Day" Program

The program lists the scheduled performances by members of the Denton Ariel Club's, Art Department during Art Day on March 4, 1912. The "Art Day" was held at the home of Mrs. L. H. Schweer and performances include "The Merry Wives of Windsor," "Forget Me Not," "Oh Nightingale," and others. The programs for the afternoon were hand-painted bluebonnets on the cover done in watercolor with gold leaf accents. The program inside was done in gold lettering.

Frame home with Mr. and Mrs. Z. Wiggs and three children, Rua, Noah, and Grace, in the yard. Written on the back, "The Wiggs family home located at 218 Blount St. in 1912 with Mr. & Mrs. Wiggs and 3 of their children Rua, Noah, and Grace (Grace who was later killed in 1925 in an early car wreck in the western part of Denton County). Blount St. no longer exists, but it used to run north-south from McKinney to Sycamore Street.
