Sin Tesis

This is an electroacoustic work for tape only and was created from the challenge of organizing sound material that the composer has accumulated during the course of his learning with Csound and create a new piece. The materials that were combined were the residue of many hours of experimentation with Csound; it is therefore a work "without thesis".

Tellura

Recording of Juan Parra Cancino's Tellura. This is an electronic composition that is the result of an exploration in natural disasters that could be associated to the disturbance of electromagnetic fields. The primary sound material is a collection of recordings of sonar stations in the Pacific Ocean which were then transformed. For the structure and distribution of the material, seismogram charts of different cities of North and South America were used.

Recording of Kazuko Narita's Fluidité. This is an electroacoustic and acousmatic work intended to be played by several loudspeakers. The composer has included a schematic for how the eight speakers should be placed in relation to the listener. The piece is constructed of two contrasting parts: the first being an overall crescendo movement which leads to a burst of sound, and the second is characterized by a slow movement.

It is a restful and dreamy piece of music, which proposes moments of soft drowsiness and others of intense awareness. Recording of Otto Laske's Beyond (Electronic Symphony No. 1). This composition is based on a large-scale symphonic design that includes three movements. It was composed as a "virtual choreography" that suggests concrete, physical choreography as its optimal medium of presentation. Compositionally, the piece is based on the use of algorithmic score synthesis as well as a feedback loop between a score generator and a sound synthesis language.
