Interview with Thomas Dunaway Anderson starting with his recollections of his uncle, Monroe Dunaway Anderson, the founder of the M.D. Anderson foundation and namesake of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. The interview continues with a description of the establishment and purpose of the M.D. Anderson Foundation and the growth and development of several recipients of M.D. Anderson’s philanthropy, including the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and the Texas Medical Center. Thomas Anderson’s memories and interactions regarding Dr. Randolph Lee Clark, the first full-time president of what is known today as the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, are recounted as well. A discussion concerning Thomas Anderson’s family contributions associated with the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and the Texas Medical Center ends the interview.

Interview with Ornell Balzer, beginning with the evolution of her career at M.D. Anderson. She recounts how she moved to Houston after graduating from nursing school and her return to M.D. Anderson. Ms. Balzer then details her memories of time spent working at Baker Estate and her interactions with colleagues and patients.

The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Albert Barton. Barton joined the Navy and was trained as a radioman. He became a crewman on an Avenger torpedo bomber in October 1943. Barton flew off of the USS Mission Bay (CVE-59) and the USS Tripoli (CVE-64) and performed anti-submarine patrols in the North Atlantic. He describes how depth charges were dropped, the armament of the plane, and how they were trained to skip-bomb. Barton was then sent to the Pacific where he flew off of the USS Anzio (CVE-57) for the remainder of the war. He describes an incident where his plane had a failed landing and ended upside-down in the water. Barton had to break some glass in the cockpit to escape. He flew ground support missions over Okinawa. Barton discusses how the radio and radar functioned on his plane. He was discharged several months after the surrender.

Interview with Dr. Bowen, beginning with the origins of his interest in science. He discusses influential educational experiences and then chronicles the evolution of M. D. Anderson during the presidencies of Dr. R. Lee Clark and Dr. Charles LeMaistre. Dr. Bowen fondly compares the leadership styles of Dr. Clark and Dr. LeMaistre and how both men facilitated his own professional growth.

Cole describes his time with the 34th Regiment in Korea at length, with many details about various combat missions and the weapons utilized. He also speaks on his injuries, including being shot in the shoulder.

Interview with Arthur Baker Bell and Robert Alan Bell, alumni of Tivy High School, from Kerrville, Texas. The Bell brothers recount their memories of the public Cascade Swimming Pool, Robert's time as a university swimmer, Arthur's hitchhiking trip to Alaska, and their community activities that have occurred since their retirement.

Interview with Jack Hunt Parks, the owner of the Hunt Store, from Houston, Texas. Parks speaks about his experiences as owner of the Hunt Store, his experiences as a member of the Hunt Preservation Society, and about his grandfathers (one of which was a Texas Special Ranger, the other of which was a cowboy on the Matador Ranch north of Abilene).

Interview with Gary Anderson, a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard from Wausau, Wisconsin. It includes a list of questions about Anderson's time as a medic in the late 1970s in Baltimore and Houston, where he was part of the 389th Transportation Battalion, as well as his opinions on Desert Storm and September 11th.

Interview with Raymond Barajas, an infantry veteran of the U.S. Army who was discharged after a training accident in 1943. It includes a list of questions, which focus on Barajas's time in training, his subsequent injury, and impressions of his time in the service and war in general.

Interview with Carl Clay, a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Persian Gulf War, who also served in the civil wars in Lebanon, Kosovo, and Somalia. Clay describes his time working in aviation on the flight deck of ships and the many countries he visited while in the service, such as Brazil, Spain, and Cuba.

Interview with Harold Aiken, a veteran of the Korean War from Highlands, Texas. The interview includes a list of questions and Aiken's responses about his service in the U.S. Army (1946-1949) and impressions while stationed in Korea. While in the service, Aiken served as a truck mechanic for the 7th Division.

Interview with John David Burgess, a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in Vietnam as a helicopter crew chief with the 196th Infantry Brigade from Baytown, Texas. Burgess describes his experiences during the war and what a typical day was like while in Vietnam. He also speaks about an incident where the plane he was flying was shot down by enemy fire.

Interview with Marjorie Eastwood, Mary C. Easley, and Mary B. Bonds from Baytown, Texas. These three women answer questions and describing their social and work experiences working at the Humble Oil Refinery during World War II.

Interview with George Ellender, a longtime resident of Baytown, Texas after being born in Cedar Bayou, Texas in 1888. Ellender answers questions about his early life as well as the early growth of both Cedar Bayou and Baytown, and the impact of Hurricane Carla in 1961.

Interview with Gary Hightower, Signalman 1st Class Navy veteran of the Vietnam War originally from Baytown, Texas. Hightower answers specific questions concerning his time in Vietnam such as where he was stationed, what his job was, and if he had any scary combat moments; Hightower also explains his outlook on the war then, and in hindsight.
