This study investigates an application of hypnotic audiotapes to a specific group of college freshmen. Hypnotherapy is recognized as a viable adjunct to counseling, and it is known that hypnosis is possible via audiotapes. The study examines the use of hypnotic audiotapes designed to affect study habits and attitudes.

The practice of altering Shakespeare's plays, begun during the Restoration and continued throughout the eighteenth century and well into the nineteenth, originated in continuously evolving literary and dramatic principles that went much deeper than the capricious whims of individual dramatists. Thus, each Shakespearean alterations in, perhaps, a century's time, a comparative study can provide some insight into the changing rules of dramatic valuation in the eighteenth century. Such a study is the purpose of this work, in which are examined the Shakespearean alterations of John Phillip Kemble. The sheer breadth of Kembles Shakespearean repertoire, his reputation among contemporary Shakespeare scholars and his renown for a quarter of a century as England's foremost Shakespearean dramatist and actor at both Drury Lane and Covent Garden all serve to emphasize the validity of such an undertaking.

Efforts were made to (1) enumerate and isolate the intestinal bacteria of Ascaris suum; (2) identify those bacteria isolated; and (3) assess the ability of intestinal bacteria to produce serotonin.

The History of Horn Playing in Los Angeles from 1920 to 1970 begins with the horn players who played in the silent film orchestras and the Alfred Brain's tenure with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. This study details the introduction of soundtracks, the early studio orchestras, the contract studio orchestras, the musician union's role in structuring the work environment, the horn players who played in both the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the studios, major figures from the subsequent freelance period such as Vincent de Rosa, and the local and international influence of the Los Angeles Horn Club.

The problem of this study was to investigate the relationship between parent and pre-adolescent adjustment within intact families, short-term divorced families, and long-term divorced families, and to compare the adjustments of parents from intact families, short-term divorced families, and long-term divorced families.

The purpose of this study was to identify behavioral characteristics of young children (ages 3-8) in special education who were prenatally substance exposed in order to compare them to the behaviors of non-substance exposed children in special education.

The present study directly contrasted the efficacy of biofeedback-assisted cue-controlled relaxation, biofeedback-assisted metronome -conditioned relaxation, and both procedures combined via one physiological and one subjective measure of relaxation under no-stress and stress conditions.

The problem of this study was an analysis of the process of play therapy. The purposes of this study were (1) to describe the patterns of play activity, nonverbal expression, and verbal expression during the process of play therapy over fifteen sessions; (2) to compare the patterns of play activity, nonverbal expression, and verbal expression of boys and girls during play therapy; and (3) to verify the processes of play activity, nonverbal expression, and verbal expression during extended play therapy.

The primary problems of the study are to collect data on conflicts with respect to two hospitals. and to analyze such data in order to determine the seriousness of present intra- and intersubgroup conflicts and the subject matters and underlying causes of the more serious present subgroup conflicts. A comparative analysis of the respective subgroups in each hospital and a comparative analysis of the two hospitals in conflicts are also part of the study.

This study was conducted to investigate change (as measured by positive growth changes in total personality adjustment, social maturity, and behavior patterns) in pre-school deaf children with behavioral problems who experienced short-term, nondirective play therapy. Change in behavior of these children was also investigated ten weeks after therapy.
