It has been desired that this work will provide interested students informative reading concerning doorways as a part of architecture. It is hoped that it will be a literary contribution to the beginning architectural student and that he study will provide a point of interest for the further study of architecture and its many elements.

The problem of this study was to determine the suitability of the available industrial arts textbooks for classroom use in the subject areas of general drafting and architectural drafting.

The purpose of this study was to make an investigation into the historical development and evolution of the cornice as an element in architectural design.

The specific purposes of the study are: 1. To ascertain the curriculum pattern with respect to the different phases of industrial arts taught in all the junior high schools. 2. To ascertain the phases or unit and subject matter content taught in each of the junior high schools. 3. To ascertain the grade levels at which the various phases and units of learning are taught in each school. 4. To ascertain if there are variations in subject matter content taught in each of the junior high schools. 5. To make suggestions and recommendations based upon the findings of the study for improving organization and administration of the industrial arts program.

This is a study of the drafting curriculum in the Fort Worth public high schools, Fort Worth, Texas.The specific purposes or the study were as follows: 1. To review and compare the courses and content of the drafting curriculums listed in the bulletins of the TEA and the Fort Worth Public Schools. 2. To study drafting scheduling procedures in each of the Fort Worth public high schools. 3. To study the courses and contents of the drafting curriculums offered in each of the Fort Worth public high schools. 4. To determine if there are variations from school to school in curriculum content of the drafting courses in each of the Fort Worth public high schools. 5. To offer suggestions and recommendations for improving the program, if weaknesses were evident, when the program was evaluated by acceptable criteria (12, 13, and 14).

The problem with which this study is concerned is that of developing a curriculum guide educators can use in planning and organizing a course of study involving computer drafting at the junior college and technical vocational school levels. This study is also concerned with the impact of computer drafting on the present drafting curriculum.

This study measures the extent to which the Texas Education Agency's 1963 monograph on drafting, Drafting, Grades 7-12, A Tentative Bulletin, is used in the state's secondary schools and its effects upon classroom activities. Information for the study comes from a questionnaire completed by a random selection of seventy-eight drafting instructors.

The problem for this study is to determine those work experiences which are of value to prospective teachers of industrial arts. In making this study the following factors are of prime importance: (1) In what types of shops will the new teachers be expected to work? (2) What units are taught in each of the different types of shop? (3) What is the grade level of children to be taught in each type of shop? (4) Which types of work experience will be of value to a teacher in the various divisions of shop instruction?

The problem encountered in this study was threefold: 1. To analyze the field of engineering models used in design studies and identify and define the way in which they are applied to product development. 2. To determine the degree and extent of skills and knowledge necessary for constructing engineering models. 3. To compare the skills and knowledge associated with model building to course content offered in industrial arts.

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the extent to which the present industrial arts program of the Van Independent School District of Van, Texas, serves the needs and interests of the students and school community.

This is a study to develop standards to be use by industrial arts teachers, school administrators, and architects when planning new industrial arts laboratories or renovating existing industrial arts laboratories for grades seven through twelve in the State of Texas.

The purpose of this study was to determine the growth of industrial arts in the secondary schools of Texas from the year of 1927 to 1948.

This study was made to gather data and information to aid the Burleson Independent School District in initiating an industrial arts general shop program in the Pauline G. Hughes Middle School. The data and information were obtained from the Texas Education Agency, the Burleson Independent School District records, the vocational director, the assistant superintendent, a questionnaire, and the Brodhead-Garrett 1976-1977 Catalog. The majority of the general shop programs in the north Texas area conduct classes five days a week for fifty-five minutes a day and accommodate twenty-four students per class. Furthermore, the majority of the general shop programs offer three units of instruction per year and teach one unit of instruction each quarter.

This study was conducted to ascertain whether or not the opportunities for developing competencies in descriptive geometry needed by draftsmen in the Dallas -Fort Worth area are being provided in Texas junior colleges. Findings concerning the knowledge, skills, and equipment associated with descriptive geometry as it is presented in Texas junior colleges were compared with competencies in descriptive geometry that representatives of industry believe are important for successful draftsmen in companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The purpose of the study is to compile information which will be of use to school officials and teachers in developing courses of study that will enable students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for success in industry.

This is a study of the standards and current practices as related to housing facilities for industrial arts programs with recommendations concerning the proposed housing facilities for industrial arts in the Arlington Heights Senior High School, Fort Worth, Texas, based upon present and future estimated scholastic enrollment and accepted standards and practices.
