The alternative fuel industry is heating up. It is a very exciting time to be in the energy business, especially when it comes to transportation. Celebrating of the milestone 75th Clean Cities coalition and kick off of the new Federal Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) USER Program is occurring in cities across the country. Clean Energy for the 21st Century and the events that are happening during Energy Awareness Month are covered in this issue. Spotlighted are niche markets; several airports across the country are successfully incorporating alternative fuels into their daily routines.

Interview with W. P. Mullen, a carpenter from Taft, Texas. Mullen recounts his time living in Taft and attending Bayview College, Portland, Texas, in the 1900s and '10s.

Interview with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sparks, husband and wife from Portland, Texas who are in the cotton farming, banking, and insurance industries. In the interview, Mr. and Mrs. Walter both describe their childhood and early years in school and work. They both share their personal observations on land speculation, settlement, and development in the Coastal Bend area of South Texas, where they have been residents for many years. They also describe the small town's social life and relations with Hispanics.

Interview with Dr. O. J. Curry from Santa Anna, Texas, the first dean of the School of Business at NTSU. Curry discusses his family history, childhood, education, becoming a teacher and high school principal, his marriage, getting his doctorate, the Great Depression, his time at the University of Arkansas and other institutions, his work with the petroleum industry during World War II, coming to NTSU, building the School Business, much about his tenure as dean, and his thoughts on business and education.

Interview with O. J. Curry, Dean Emeritus of the College of Business at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, regarding his background growing up on the family farm, his own education, experience as dean and what sort of materials were needed in the business department, staffing difficulties faced there, and changes in the education system over time.
