General directory for Galveston, Texas includes address listings for businesses and individuals as well as advertisements from local businesses. According to the title page, it contains "the full address of all the householders, white & colored, from Sixth Street, two blocks east from the city hospital to Magnolia Grove Cemetery in the west, and from Avenue A, or Water Street, in the north, to the beach; also a classified business directory, the officers and directors of banks, companies, etc; the names, places, and time of meeting of all societies, military and fire companies, courts, churches, etc."
