This is a letter from the Charles B. Moore Collection. It is written by Charles B. Moore and is addressed to Sy and Will Wallace. In this letter, Moore details a genealogical account of the Wallace family. He provides a brief, yet detailed family history. The history includes a narrative of the Wallace elders, a list of the children born to Joseph and Mary Wallace, and a list of the children born to John and Matilda Wallace. The letter is dated December 6th and the year is unidentified. It is damaged along the edges of the letter and some words are missing due to the damage.

Papers concerning Robertson's Colony in Texas, Volume 2
"Leftwich's Grant is the second volume in a series that is intended to document the colonization of an area in Central Texas that eventually became known as Robertson's Colony." It covers "the three years that [Robert] Leftwich spent in Mexico City and Saltillo" and includes "a complete account of his official negotiations with both the national government in Mexico City and the state government of Coahuila and Texas. It also includes documents concerning Dr. Felix Robertson, President of the Texas Association, and the group of young men who came to Texas with him in the fall of 1825 to explore the grant and survey land for the stockholders" (p. 11). The Fenner Forebears of Samuel Fenner Leslie
A book complied by Ruth Leslie Barrett detailing the history of immigrant Richard Fenner and his son Robert Fenner and one line of his descendants: Robert Fenner, Jr., Joseph F. The Provincial Congress of North Carolina 1774-1776
The Provincial Congress assumed the leadership of North Carolina at a time when, almost simultaneously, the seeds of the American Revolution were beginning to take root throughout the neighboring provinces. Shortchanged: Uncovering the Value of Pre-Removal Cherokee Property
This article estimates the value of the Cherokee's land and other property that was lost due to the tribe's removal to Indian Territory. Economist Matthew Gregg has performed a detailed mathematical analysis of land sale records in Tennessee, North Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia around the time of removal. He arrives at an assessment that is consonant with Cherokee Chief John Ross's 1838 figure.

Oral History Interview with George Medcalf, December 27, 2000
The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Geroge Medcalf from Greensville, South Carolina. He discusses his experience in training in Camp Mcoy in Wisconsin and meeting his wife there. He also discusses his time in the Second Infantry Division with the 38th Regiment, Company C, preparing for the Normandy Invasion. Mr. Medcalf also relays how he had to take over command of his Company during the invasion when he was injured by flying shrapnel and sent back to England for recuperation. He shares a story of how while advancing on Leipzig, Germany he was saved from German artillery fire when his sergeant offered him a piece of candy moving him away from the line of fire. The war ended while Mr. Medcalf was in Czechoslovakia, and after the war he received a purple heart and a cluster.

Oral History Interview with R. Bruce Porter, September 30, 2000
The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with R. Bruce Porter. After a few years of college at the University of Southern California, Porter joined the Marines as an aviation cadet. After training on the F4F, Porter was assigned to Squadron 111 and shipped out on the USS Garfield to American Samoa. Porter mentions training with and talking with Joe Foss when his squadron passed through Apia. Porter then went to Turtle Bay, New Caledonia. He next flew F4F's in Guadalcanal in 1943. Their squadron then switched to the Corsair plane. Porter then started moving ""up the slot"" toward Japan gradually moving north with his squadron. Later, Porter returned to the states to train on F6F's and joined a night fighter squadron. He was assigned as a squadron commander in Okinawa. He discusses blowing up a plane with a ""baka"" bomb on it. Porter's record is an ace, with five official kills and one probable. Porter witnessed the surrender party preparing for the official surrender. He stayed in Japan for four months after the occupation.

Oral History Interview with Abner Aust, March 19, 2013
The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Abner Aust. Aust joined the Army Air Forces in September 1941 and completed flight school in April 1943. He was assigned to Venice, Florida, as an instructor, often receiving extra runway duty on account of his mischievous acrobatics. In October 1944, he joined the 506th Fighter Group, 457th Fighter Squadron, as flight commander. Upon familiarizing himself with the P-51, he flew his first missions out of Tinian, moving next to Iwo Jima. While escorting B-29s, he sometimes broke away to lead his group of eight fighters to strafe opportunistically. He is credited with five victories, the last of which occurred on 10 August 1945, distinguishing him as the last fighter ace of World War II. Aust then served in the Air Force and participated in the Vietnam War. Just before his retirement, he worked at Bolling Air Force Base to develop the F-15. After all of his experience in fighters, his favorite plane is the P-40N.

Oral History Interview with Adolph Krchnak, May 23, 2015
The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Adolph Krchnak. Krchnak joined the Army in December of 1944. He completed parachute school. In late 1944, early 1945 he was stationed in the Philippines with the 11th Airborne Division. They served in a traditional infantry role in the Philippines. His division participated in the Liberation of Manila in the spring of 1945. In August of 1945 they traveled into southern Japan as part of the occupation force. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
