Transcript of an interview with James Kaster, legislative liaison to Governor William Clements, concerning his experiences and personal views as the governor's liaison during Sixty-seventh Texas Legislature. This interview was conducted in 1982 for the Texas Political History Oral History Project.

Interview with Pauline Dixon, a teacher and longtime resident of Hamilton Park from Pittsburg, Texas. Dixon discusses her education, her father's work as assistant sheriff in segregated Pittsburg, the Classroom Teachers of Dallas, moving to Hamilton Park, development of the area, the "buy out" of the neighborhood, the Civic League, desegregation and busing, and her political work.

Johnson discusses growing up in a sharecropping family, racism in the community, work on the farm, her education, becoming a nurse and working at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, moving to Hamilton Park, unfair access to utilities, her children's education and difficulties with the school system, the Civic League, her husband, her children, other places she's lived, police harassment, the NAACP, and life in Hamilton Park. An addendum includes additional biographical information about Mrs. Johnson.

Transcript of an interview with Charles V. Griffin, Jr., the founder of the Uvalde Producers Feed and Elevator Inc., from Uvalde, Texas. Griffin discusses his family background, education, and his views on the grain business.

Interview with Democratic attorney and member of the Texas Senate Oscar H. Mauzy from Dallas, Texas. In the interview, Mauzy recollects memories and experiences as a member of the Sixty-seventh legislature. He discusses his personal views on issues including the elections of 1980, initiative-referendum, the abortion issue, law-and-order legislation, redistricting, and the state water plan. Mauzy also comments on Ross Perot, Governor William Clements, Lieutenant Governor William Hobby, and Attorney General Mark White.

Interview with Representative Fred Agnich, Republican politician and businessman from Dallas, Texas, discussing his experiences as a member of the Sixty-seventh Texas Legislature. Agnich discusses his work in the Texas House of Representatives, elections, Governor William Clements, other legislators, taxes, recent bills, and redistricting.

Interview with Democratic representative and political journalist David Allred from Wichita Falls, Texas. In the interview, Allred discusses his experiences as a member of the Second Special Session of the Sixty-fifth Legislature. He also talks about his personal views on issues such as Proposition 13 in California, treasury surplus, the repeal of sales tax on residential utility bills, the increase in inheritance tax exemptions, taxation of agricultural and timber land, initiative-referendum, the Peveto Bill, the formation of the "Filthy Fifty", the Sam Houston Caucus, and the House Study Group. Allred also comments on Governor Dolph Briscoe, Speaker Bill Clayton, and Lieutenant Governor Bill Hobby

Interview with Jay Titus, an Army Air Forces veteran (457th Squadron, 330th Bomb Group, 20th Air Force), concerning his experiences as a B-29 bombardier in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Bombing missions from Guam to Japan in 1945; Japanese fighter and flak opposition; fire bombing raids. Appendix includes a photocopy of the "350th Bomb Group Digest: a summary of combat activities from April 12 to Sept. 2 1945" [21 leaves]

Interview with Alla Clary, former secretary to Representative Sam Rayburn, from McKinney, Texas. In the interview, Miss Clary discusses her personal experiences and recollections from her many years of service in the office of Congressman Rayburn in Washington D.C.

Interview with Albert Boggs, a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from Mixon, Oklahoma. Boggs discusses his family life, farming, struggles during the Depression, joining the CCC, his first assignment to a camp at Jacksonville, TX, education, camp life and organization, work, fights in camp, transfer to a camp in Waxahachie, being an assistant leader, building bridges, the kinds of people who worked the camp, and some general reflections. In appendix are Boggs' discharge papers and a newsletter commemorating CCC veterans.

Interview with Tom Bullock Hyder, a Democratic Texas State Legislator from Denton, Texas. Hyder recounts his time in state government from 1928 to about 1940, discussing lobbying, the growth of the state's industries, liquor laws, state education, his relations with various prominent state figures and politicians, campaigns, and other topics.

Interviews with Price Daniel, 38th Governor of Texas and (after these interviews) Texas Supreme Court Justice. Daniel discusses his family history and involvement in politics, his education and early career, his first campaigns for and election to the Texas Legislature, his legislative history, opinions on governors and fellow lawmakers, service as Speaker of the House, reelection campaigns, his involvement in the Tidelands Controversy, his involvement in the Democratic Party, his service in the Senate, and his service as Governor of Texas. In appendix is an explanation of the Tidelands Controversy.
