Nakano discusses her childhood experiences with bigotry in rural Colorado, the evacuation from Los Angeles to Amache in September of 1942, camp life, her marriage in the camp, resettlement in Chicago, and the lasting impressions of the internment experience.

Interview with General T. R. Milton, retired U.S. Air Force general and former commander of Thirteenth Air Force. In the interview, Milton gives his opinions regarding various commanders, USAF traditions compared to those of other services, including discussions of uniforms and force cohesiveness, Air Force Chiefs of Staff, and Air Force execution of various Cold War policies. He also talks about his combat experience in the European Theater of World War II, gives his thoughts on command and leadership, and voices his concerns regarding the U.S. Air Force Academy, force organization, and command structure.

Interview with O.R. Sparkman, a Marine WWII veteran and POW from Dallas, Texas. Stationed in China before the war, Sparkman was captured in December 1941 by the Japanese in Beijing and interned at various camps in occupied China and Korea before finishing the war at Hakodate, Japan.

Interview with accountant and Army veteran William Barsanti. The interview includes Barsanti's personal experiences about the European Theater during World War II, his youth in an Italian immigrant family, graduating from high school and enrolling in college, then in the Enlisted Reserve Corps, being inducted into the U.S. Army, basic training, being selected for the Army Specialized Training Program, transferring to the 106th Infantry Division, and his assignment to Cannon Company as a supply sergeant. Barsanti also talks about the living conditions at Stalag XII-A and Stalag II-D, Stargard, Germany, evacuating to Bremervorde, Germany, liberation, and his postwar business career in Europe.

Interview with Joe B. Gear regarding his experiences in the military and as a prisoner of war of the Japanese during World War II. He was captured near Corregidor in the Phillipines.

Interview with Thomas Jenny, a Marine Corps and Air America pilot from Miami, Florida, who served in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. Jenny discusses his interest in aviation, entering the Naval Flight Training Program, flight training, joining the Marine Corps, assignment to Korea, working for Pan-Am, joining Air America, and flying a variety of aircraft and missions from Thailand and Laos.

Interview with William Holston concerning his experiences before, during, and after his employment in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. Holston worked at a camp in Powers, Oregon. Includes an appendix.

Interview with Mr. C. S. Sykes, a US Army WWII veteran from Ardmore, Oklahoma, and his wife, from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Both were on Oahu on December 7th, 1941, and witnessed the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. They discuss the peacetime army, being stationed at Schofield Barracks, living on Kawailoa Beach, events prior to the attack, and events during the attack on Oahu.

Interview with printer Johnny Cox. The interview includes Cox's personal experiences about attending the Texas International Pop Festival in Lewisville, Texas, enrolling in Texas Tech University, and playing in bands while at Texas Tech. Cox talks about generational conflicts with his parents, taking guitar lessons as a teenager, the appeal of the Beatles and their music, his high school friends and activities, changing clothing styles in the Sixties, meeting his first wife, his opposition to the Vietnam War, his decision to attend the Texas International Pop Festival, drug use at the festival, his first personal use of LSD, how LSD put the music in a different perspective for him, the "free stage," and the Texas International Pop Festival as a turning point in his life. He also comments on Janis Joplin's performance, Canned Heat and B.B. King, the performances of Led Zeppelin and Spirit, and crowd behavior at the festival.

Voss discusses his earlier life and joining Caltex, work on company claims involving postwar China and other assets affected by World War II, the crude oil market, effects of the Chinese Communist Revolution on the company and markets, company operations in Japan and reconstruction, the company in Korea and Vietnam, mergers, purchases, divestments, expansion in the Mid East, South Africa, re-entry into China, and reflections on the energy business and his career.

Interview with former U.S. congressman Martin Dies, Jr., an attorney from Lufkin, Texas. The interview includes Dies' experiences as a Texas politician and U.S. Congressman, 1931-49 and 1950-56, and chairman of House Committee on Un-American Activities during the New Deal.
