Neutron Production by High-Energy Particles
Abstract: "From neutron-yield measurements made with a MnSO4 detecting solution, the average number of neutrons produced per inelastic event is determined for a series of elements from lithium to uranium for 340-Mev protons, 190-and 315-Mev deuterons, 490-Mev He3 ions, and 90- and 160-Mev neutrons. The results are analyzed in an attempt to understand the total yield measurements for thick targets and to explain the variation of yield with the atomic number of the target."

Fluorspar: Its Mining, Milling, and Utilization with a Chapter on Cryolite
From Preface: "The importance of fluorspar in the industrial development of this country, particularly in the open-hearth steel industry, has only begun to be realized fully, The World War showed that fluospar was an essential mineral and was not as abundant as has been supposed. Mr. Ladoo visited nearly all the important fluorspar mines and mills in the United States and obtained as much information as possible regarding foreign deposits, production and methods."

Geology of the Santa Rita Mining Area, New Mexico
From abstract: The Santa Rita mining area (pl. 1), covering 35 square miles of semiarid mountainous land, lies within the Silver City 30-minute quadrangle, Grant County, N. Mex., and includes the most productive part of the Central or Hanover mining district. Ore was produced in this district as early as 1804 and production continued intermittently for a century before the developments were undertaken that led to large-scale copper mining, which began in 1912. The output of zinc, lead, and iron increased markedly about the same time.

Manganese Resources of the Olympic Peninsula, Washington: a Preliminary Report
Abstract: The northern, eastern, and southern parts of the Olympic Peninsula, Wash., contain many small deposits of manganese. Most of the deposits consist of complex manganese silicates with some carbonates, although 16,275 tons of hausmannite (Mn304) ore was mined at the Crescent mine during 1924-26. About a hundred tons of silicates have been mined from various properties, mainly for experimental purposes. Future production probably will not be large, because the silicate ores are of low grade and are difficult and expensive to treat. Moreover, most of the deposits are difficult of access, and most of the ore bodies are small isolated lenses and thin tabular bodies. The deposits are mostly in red limestone or red argillite near contacts with basalt, but a few of them are in basalt.

Inelastic Proton-Proton Scattering At 1.3 Bev
"The understanding of interactions between the elementary particles, which no number thirty, and range from the massless neutrino to the Е with a mass of approximately 1320 Mev, in a prerequisite to the knowledge of the structure of matter. Although the complex aggregate of elementary particles which constitute matter displays properties different from those of the basic building blocks, nevertheless it is impossible to gain a firm knowledge of the behavior of matter without first ascertaining in the intrinsic properties of elementary particles, as well as the dynamics of their interactions. The present work is concerned with inelastic proton-proton scattering at 1.35 Bev, where single pion production predominates."

Geology and Uranium Favorability of the Sonora Pass Region, Alpine and Tuolumne Counties, California
From project objectives: The Sonora Pass region was identified by the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) as a potential uranium resource area because of past uranium production at the Juniper Mine and reported high-grade occurrences in other buried fluvial channels which are Tertiary in age. The objective of the Sonora Pass drilling project was to obtain subsurface data that would increase the accuracy of uranium reserve estimates for the project area.
