The problem of this study was to determine the degree of Texas Legislative support for public school services to handicapped children not presently being served (birth through two and zero reject). This study has four purposes: To identify trends in respect to educating the handicapped birth through two and zero-reject; To determine State Legislative's attitude with respect to serving; To inform the legislature and educational leaders and familiarize them with the data collected; and to present recommendations to legislators, educators, and agencies of strategies that might be considered in future planning.

The purpose of this dissertation is to compare the evolution of the German accounting profession with that in the United States from the late 1800's to the early 1930's. Included is an analysis of the interaction of the accounting profession with each nation's corporate/ banking institutions in influencing financial reporting and the demand for audits.

When, at age forty-nine, B.B. McKinney becae the Music Editor for the Baptist Sunday School Board, he began a career as probably the most influential man in Southern Baptist music, setting in motion the machinery that has made the Southern Baptist church music program among the largest in the nation. After six years with the Board, McKinney was promoted to Secretary of the newly-formed Church Music Department. Through his leadership state conventions were led to employ music secretaries to help train and assist churches with their individual music programs. Besides his continued editorship and composing, he set up, with his associate Hines Sims, the Church Music Training Course, and began the publication of a monthly journal, The Church Musician.

In order to design an educational system that reflects Pakistani culture and ideology, teacher education programs must be developed which reflect the overall expectations by the country's various social, economic, and educational institutions. Such a program should take the lead in not only developing the educational system but also in establishing priorities in social, economic, and educational changes.

On the deepest level, that of the port's collective unconscious, the water monsters are symbols for the archetypal Mother to whose womb the hero of myth strives to return in order to achieve immortality by means of rebirth.

The problem of this study concerns the admissions and transition programs of undergraduate institutions which are members of the Christian College Coalition. The problem of this study was a comparison of the career interests, locus of control, attitude, and achievement scores of community college introduction to business "on-campus" students and "open-circuit instructional television" students. The problem with which this dissertation is concerned is to determine whether the semester unit plan offers seventh grade students greater academic gain in the basic subject areas than does the quarter unit plan. Texas offers school districts a choice of the two plans. This study is unique in that the district of this study has both plans in operation at the secondary level.

Second, why are there such wide gaps between the number of Negroes who are eligible to vote and the number that registered to vote and between those who registered and those who actually voted in Houston? The third question is in what election has the Houston Negro demonstrated his greatest political interest and why? And finally, is the politics of Houston based on race or economics?" -- leaf v.

The study ascertained elementary school teachers' and supervisors' views about their role in the implementation of Sankofa (Go back and retrieve) in school music. Sankofa mandates the integration of distinctive Ghanian traditional values and practices with Western educational concepts in the school curriculum. In music, it calls for the fusion of multi-ethnic musics of Ghana with Western musical concepts in public school music instruction. Some concerns expressed by Ghanian music educators regarding teachers' negative attitudes toward Sankofa in public school music had prompted the study.

In the middle of his career, Arthur Garfield Dove created a smell yet novel body of landscape assemblages. They illustrate Dove's central interest in evoking nature--its motifs and rhythms--through imaginative associations of organic and man-made materials. These works represent Dove's synthesis of contemporary European stylistic and intellectual ideas as well as American philosophies and concerns. They also reflect the influence of Alfred Stieglitz and his circle and the artist Helen Torr, Dove's second wife. This study examines how Dove used a complex interplay of European theory and technique, American ideas and his own nature-based abstract style to create the landscape assemblages, works that are uniquely independent in the history of American art.
