The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of studies in depth utilizing selected materials which had been developed for teaching high school American history.

The problem of this study was to compare the relative gains made in the development of oral language skills in two groups of first grade pupils when two different approaches to beginning reading instruction were used. The purpose of this study was to identify reading achievement of pupils assigned to the reading clinic and analyze and compare this achievement by grade levels with levels of intelligence.
