[Students standing on the steps of the Normal Building]

Photograph of students posing on the steps of the Normal Building. Built in 1891, the Normal Building was the first building built on the North Texas Normal College campus, on what is now the corner of Oak and Avenue B. In 1907, the building was struck by lightning and destroyed. The photograph shows the front entrance stairs of the building, with two women and a man seated on the ground in front, and a group of 46 men and women standing on the stairs. Photograph taken between 1891 and 1907.

[University-wide Spring 2016 commencement ceremony and UNT's 125th Anniversary celebration]

Video recording of the University-wide Spring 2016 commencement ceremony held at Apogee Stadium on Friday, May 13 at 10:00 a.m. Approximately 3,411 undergraduate students, 740 masters students and 119 doctoral students were honored at the ceremony. The ceremony includes remarks by UNT President Dr. Neal Smatresk, System Chancellor Lee F. Jackson, System Regent Laura Wright, President of the Student Government Association Adam Allatry, former U.S. Army Sergeant and UNT Alumnus Steven Davidson, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Finley Graves, and member of the Alumni Association Byron Campbell. Preceding the commencement, the video includes a narrated highlight on the origin and history of UNT, as well as a message delivered by President Dr. Neal Smatresk in celebration of the university's 125th (quasquicentennial) anniversary.
