Handwritten notes on reverse: "Mrs. Will M. Smith Frisco Tex. Spring of 1896", "312" and "Class 1896". The group is posed against the Normal Building, constructed in 1891 as the first permanent building on the NT campus. It stood until being struck by lightning in 1907, when it burned to the ground.

Photographs of a Ticket Book for courses at Texas Normal College and Training Institute held by UNT Special Collections. The first image is of the front. It has a top section with information about when the tickets were used and the three tickets out of five at the bottom for drills, lectures, and study courses. The second image is of the back. The larger portion includes a promise signed by Lewis L. Fry, namesake of Fry Street in Denton, TX. There are also signatures on the backs of each ticket for course opportunities.
