Bob Kap Archives #6
Home movies of soccer games, circa 1962. The majority of footage appears to be of the 1962 World Cup, held in Chile. Players from several countries are depicted warming up and greeting fans. The film is silent and alternates between color and black and white images. The film opens with footage of a military band and soldiers in dress uniform marching on the soccer field. The film ends with what appears to be the medal ceremony for the final of the 1962 World Cup, with Brazilian soccer captain Mauro Ramos accepting the Jules Rimet trophy for his team's defeat over Czechoslovakia.
