Interview with Paul Voertman concerning his expriences as President of Voertman's Book Store in Denton, Texas. He discusses the founding of Voertman's by his father in 1925, the early years of the store, the Depression, the opening of a store near Texas Women's University, and the effects upon his business from North Texas State University opening its own book store. He also shares his thoughts on education, his early work experience, the growth in merchandise lines, and the problems of the book business.

Interview with African American North Texas State University alumnus James Gayle. The interview included Gayle's personal experiences of childhood, playing basketball at Fort Worth's all-black Terrell High School, attending North Texas and enrolling in the ROTC program, and his experience as a boarder in "Shack Town" neighborhood of Denton. Gayle talks about the comparison of race relations in Artesia, New Mexico, and Waco and Forth Worth, Texas, the "neutral" stance of NT administration toward black students and the "self-support" system among students, as well as his relationships with professors and white students, and his perception of what he gained from his NT experience.

Interview with Louise Evans, a librarian with experience working at the University of North Texas Library during the development of the Library Service Department. Evans discusses her education and background, her career at UNT (then North Texas State University), administration, previous layout of library departments, and courses related to Library Science taught at the time.

Interview with Dr. Gerard Roland Vela, UNT Professor Emeritus of Microbiology. The interview includes Vela's personal experiences about childhood and education, serving in World War II-era U.S. Navy, having a fellowship at Harvard University, and joining the North Texas faculty in 1965. Interview with Adrienne Griffen, the Executive Director of the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance from Arlington, Virginia. Griffen discusses her family, time as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy, education, her own experience with postpartum depression, becoming an advocate, Postpartum Support International, other leaders and organizations in her field, postpartum psychosis, statistics, and treatments.

Interview with Eunice Gray, schoolteacher and local historian. The interview includes Gray's personal experiences about Denton County, Texas from 1900 to 1987. Gray talks about the early history of her descendants, cattle raising and marketing, and the oil industry.

Interview with community activist Katherine McGuire from Denton, Texas. In the interview, McGuire discusses her experiences concerning the activities of the Denton Christian Women's Inter-Racial Fellowship during the 1960s and 1970s. She also comments on what life was like living in a segregated community in Denton, street paving in the African-American section of Denton, the Denton Christian Preschool, the desegregation of public schools and public facilities, the former president of North Texas State University John Kamerick, former NTSU poet-in-residence B. F. Maiz, integration of NTSU facilities, and the demise of the Fellowship.

Interview with Dr. Victor Rodriguez spotlighting significant insights into his storied and sterling career through five time dimensions: (1) his early all-Hispanic elementary school training; (2) his continued study and budding athletic prowess in the Edna, TX, school district; (3) his Victoria Junior College athletic achievements and learning; (4) his higher education art training, Geezle membership, and track accomplishments at North Texas State College; and (5) his 37-year career as a teacher, coach, and superintendent in the San Antonio (TX) school district. Inspired by his Anglo third-grade teacher in an all-Hispanic school in Edna, TX, Victor responded to his teacher's challenge to be a civic contributor by becoming a daily bell ringer at the local Catholic church (described in detail in his book, The Bell Ringer), a job requiring him to arise at 4:30 each morning and to run two miles one way amid nipping dogs to ring the bell. This discipline and activity would tap his athletic ability later as he surfaced as a distance district winner despite running barefoot, in blue jeans, and in an oversized t-shirt.
