This primary purpose of this thesis is to explore the progression of education within Ellis County. The first two chapters focus on how the county was founded, the first settlements, the formation of towns and economic developments. The rest of the paper gives the history and development of education, specifically the early schools of the county, the beginning of public schools, and the more recent trends of education.

The problem of this study is to analyze the reasons for attendance and lack of attendance at Parent-Teacher Association meetings of sixty selected parents of the Parent-Teacher Association in the Robert E. Lee School, Denton, Texas.

The purpose of this study is to set up, by reading, observing, and discussing the different phases of Special Education, a proposed plan for administering a more adequate educational program for the exceptional children of the Allen Public School.

The problem is to determine why fifteen lower grade pupils were absent from school so many times during the previous year and to ascertain whether the pupils' attendance records could be improved in the present year through arts and crafts.
