Nigeria in Political Transition

Relations between the United States and Nigeria improved with the transfer of power to a civilian government in 1999. Nigeria remains relatively stable, although ethnic and religious clashes in some parts of the country have led to massive displacement of civilian populations. This report outlines the current political and economic states of Nigeria, as well as its relationship with the United States.
