A Descriptive Catalog of Selected Aerial Photographs of Geologic Features in Areas Outside the United States
From introduction: The U.S. Geological Survey has selected and assembled 67 sets of aerial photographs that illustrate a variety of geologic features in Antarctica, South and Central America, the southwest Pacific, Iran, Japan, the Arabian Peninsula, Pakistan, and mainland China. Contact prints of the photographs composing these sets are available for purchase. Sets of photographs of geologic features in the United States and Puerto Rico are listed in a separate catalog (Denny, C. S., and others, 1968, A descriptive catalog of selected aerial photographs of geologic features in the United States: U.S. Geol. Survey Prof. Paper 590).

Domestic Phosphate Deposits
From abstract: Incomplete but recently partly revised estimates indicate the presence of about 10 billion tons of phosphate deposits in the Urited States that is minable under present economic conditions. Deposits too lean in quality or thickness to compete with those in the western and southeastern fields probably contain tens of billions of tons.

Report on Progress of Investigations of Mineral Resources of Alaska in 1904
From letter of transmittal: The report contains fourteen papers, prepared by ten members of the geologic corps, who have been engaged in Alaskan investigations during the last year. In this report an attempt has been made to summarize the economic results of last season's field work. Geologic matter has been entirely excluded, except where it has a direct bearing on the subjects under discussion. While such a report can have no permanent value, other than as a record of mining conditions during the year, it is believed that its prompt publication will help the mining industry of Alaska.

Revisions in Stratigraphic Nomenclature of the Columbia River Basalt Group
From abstract: New stratigraphic nomenclature for units within the Columbia River Basalt Group is introduced to revise and expand that currently in use; it is based largely on subdivisions made informally by T. L. Wright, M. J. Grolier, and D. A. Swanson in 1973. The Yakima Basalt is raised to subgroup status, and three formations-the Grande Ronde Basalt, Wanapum Basalt, and Saddle Mountains Basalt, in order of decreasing age-are defined within it.

Uranium in the Black Rock District Yavapai County, Arizona
From abstract: A radioactivity survey of the Black Rock district in southern Yavapai County, Ariz, disclosed anomalous radioactivity in several localities, chiefly at the Abe Lincoln mine in sec. 11, T. 8 N., R. 3 W., about 14 road miles northeast of Wickenburg. The Abe Lincoln vein system occupies a fault zone which strikes N. 500 E. and dips from 780 to 870 NW. Moderate radioactivity is present at the Bracken property and at several other localities in the Black Rock district. The writers recommend re-opening the Abe Lincoln mine to permit a more extensive examination of the vein.

Geology of the Coastal Plain of Georgia
From preface: The manuscript of this report, which is the culmination of field and office studies carried on intermittently s' ice 1914, partly in cooperation with the Geological Survey of Georgia, was completed early in 1938. It was prepared with the expectation that it would form part of a more comprehensive report on the geology of Georgia by several authors, which was intended to accompany a geologic map of the entire State on a scale of 1: 500,000. However, this map without the text was published in 1939 by the Georgia Division of Mines, Mining and Geology. Part of this map is reproduced herein as plate 1 without revision.

Geology of the Coastal Plain of South Carolina
From abstract: The Coastal Plain of South Carolina extends from the Atlantic Ocean inland a distance ranging from 120 to 150 miles to the Fall Line, where it adjoins the Piedmont province. It includes an area of more than 20,000 square miles, or nearly two-thirds of the State, whose total area is 30,981 square miles, of which 494 square miles is water. The geographic divisions of the Coastal Plain are the marine coastal terraces, or "low country", which stand less than 270 feet above sea level, and the Aiken Plateau, the High Hills of Santee, the Richland red hills, and the Congaree sand hills.

Investigations in the Fall Creek Area, Bonneville County, Idaho, During the 1952 Field Season: A Preliminary Report
Introduction: Field work during the 1952 field season has supplied new data on the areal extent, composition, and estimated reserves of uranium-bearing carbonaceous rocks in the Fall Creek.area, Bonneville County, Idaho. The following is a preliminary report of progress to describe these new data which supplement the information contained in Trace Elements Memorandum Report 340 (Vine and Moore, 1952). This work was done on behalf of the Division of Raw Materials of the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission.
