Method of Estimating the Stick-Fixed Longitudinal Stability of Wing-Fuselage Configurations Having Unswept or Swept Wings
Memorandum presenting a method for calculating the stick-fixed longitudinal stability of a wing-fuselage configuration at subcritical Mach numbers. The method applies to unswept- and swept-wing configurations. The stability parameters estimated by the method show reasonable agreement with the experimental values for the 23 configurations used in the comparison.

Deflection and Stress Analysis of the Yankee Core Support Structure
The deflection and stresses of a medel of the Yankee lower core support structure, conslstlng of two clrcular perforated plates joined together by a clrcular reinforclng rib and 76 cylindrical spacers, were obtained experimentally. The relationships between the tests on the model and reference design were determined by an application of dimensional analysis. Experimental investigations are described in which various design parameters were determined and the structural rigidity of the assembly was obtained. A rational methed of semitheoretical analysis of the problem is suggested based on Reissner's small deflectlon theory which takes into account the effect of transverse shear and normal stress deformation. Flight and Preflight Evaluation of an Automatic Thrust-Coefficient Control System in a Twin-Engine Ram-Jet Missile
Report presenting a flight and preflight evaluation of an automatic thrust-coefficient control system in a twin-engine ram-jet missile. A flicker-type single-loop servocontrol system is shown to be a usable way of controlling ram-jet thrust coefficients.

Flight investigation of the effect of control centering springs on the apparent spiral stability of a personal-owner airplane
Report presents the results of a flight investigation conducted on a typical high-wing personal-owner airplane to determine the effect of control centering springs on apparent spiral stability. Apparent spiral stability is the term used to describe the spiraling tendencies of an airplane in uncontrolled flight as affected both by the true spiral stability of the perfectly trimmed airplane and by out-of-trim control settings. Centering springs were used in both the aileron and rudder control systems to provide both a positive centering action and a means of trimming the airplane.

Hanford Atomic Products Operation monthly report, December 1953
This document presents a summary of work and progress at the Hanford Engineer Works for December 1953. The report is divided into sections by department. A plant wide general summary is included at the beginning of the report, after which the departmental summaries begin. The Manufacturing Department reports plant statistics, and summaries for the Metal Preparation, Reactor and Separation sections. The Engineering Department`s section summaries work for the Technical, Design, and Project Sections. Costs for the various departments are presented in the Financial Department`s summary. The Medical, Radiological Sciences, Utilities and General Services, Employee and Public Relations, and Community Real Estate and Services departments have sections presenting their monthly statistics, work, progress, and summaries.
