Scrapbook that highlights the activities of American Art Week in communities throughout Texas, including reports from museums, art organizations, and public schools and institutions of higher learning. This book was entered into the American Art Week contest. Ribbons saying "Texas Art" are on the front cover. With each clipping, the number of inches of newspaper print devoted to art and the circulation numbers of each of the papers is included. The focus is on local art events during American Art Week, but also included are activities of federated and non-federated clubs statewide.

The program for the year was "Art for the Busy Woman." Meeting minutes, bylaws, and a section on finger painting are a part of this scrapbook. Other club news includes the Abilene Wednesday Club, one of the charter member clubs of the Abilene Federation. Federation teaching tools include a unit on "Famous Cathedrals." A Texas Centennial pamphlet is included in the Texas Federation section along with minutes and National Federation handouts.

According to the title page, the directory contains "a miscellaneous directory of state, county and city governments, educational institutions, churches, secret and benevolent societies, etc., a street guide and householders' directory, an alphabetically arranged list of business houses and private citizens, giving full names, occupation or pursuit, and address, also a complete classified business directory, 'The Buyer's Guide.'" The general index begins on page 11 and the index to advertisers begins on page 12.

Scrapbook that documents art events over the year with emphasis on local events and those of the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs Sixth District of which Abilene, Texas, was a part. This scrapbook won first place at the Sixth District Convention. Included are 49 pages of prints purchased from the Metropolitan Museum of Art and made available for ten cents a piece by the American Committee for Art Appreciation. The brochure includes a history of the different painters. These prints were exhibited at the Abilene Chamber of Commerce and at the Abilene Women's Club.

This pressbook won honorable mention in the statewide contest sponsored by the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs for communities promoting art. The first page includes a certificate of membership in the Art Forum and a listing of membership, officers and committees. One of the highlights of the year was an exhibit of Military Art by Corporal Samuel Smith at the Abilene Fine Arts Museum. Most of the clippings focus on local art events and document member activities supporting the war effort.
